Who is Para Kore

Para Kore Marae Incorporated, established in 2010, is a Māori, not-for-profit, zero waste organisation with a vision of oranga taiao, oranga whānau, oranga marae.

Spanning  the motu, our team at Para Kore delivers a te ao Māori based sustainability education programme that provides wānanga, resources and support to marae, whānau, hapū, iwi, groups, entities and communities to design out and reduce waste.

The work of Para Kore contributes to building a circular economy, soil and kai sovereignty and supporting climate justice and action. The Para Kore whānau are passionate about and committed to collective action for a zero carbon, zero waste Aotearoa New Zealand that honours mana Māori motuhake and regenerates Ranginui and Papatūānuku.

Position summary:

We are seeking a permanent administrative professional to join us to support our mission of oranga taiao, oranga marae, oranga whānau. The position involves 40 hours per week, though we’re open to considering a 30-hour arrangement for the ideal candidate. This is a remote position, but if you reside nearby, you also have the option to work from our office in Raglan.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Streamline systems and processes, prioritising automation.
  • Manage and enhance our project management and  productivity platforms.
  • Aid the management team in collecting and organising reporting data.
  • Handle bookings and calendar management.
  • Provide HR administrative support.
  • Offer executive assistant services.
  • Manage procurement and secretary duties.

Our ideal candidate will have these skills and experience:

  • Strong administrative coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in online tools, including  automation.
  • Experience working within Māori communities.
  • Understanding of tikanga and te reo Māori.
  • Passion or interest in sustainability, circular economy, and related fields.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective time and project management skills.
  • Capacity to nurture relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate others effectively.
