How does it work?
We work with marae, kura, kōhanga reo, whare karakia, wāhi mahi, events and more.
A presentation about the Para Kore kaupapa is always the first step, and signing up is always the second step. Hereon after, some of the steps may happen together, or at different times.

Waste Audit
Step 3: Marae takes part in a Waste Audit of their waste with Para Kore advisor

Step 5: Para Kore advisor shows Marae Champion how to fill out their Marae Tracker
Para Kore Policies
Step 7: Marae with support from Para Kore advisor creates Para Kore Policies
Second waste Audit
Step 9: A second Waste Audit is undertaken to determine progress and next steps
Whakaaetanga
Step 2: Relationship agreement signed and Para Kore champion confirmed.
System Setup
Step 4: Para Kore advisor provides signage and bins and helps marae to set up recycling (and possibly composting) systems
Wānanga Session
Step 6: Para Kore advisor shows Marae Champion how to fill out their Marae Tracker
Annual Evaluation + Ongoing Support
Step 8: Marae fill out an Annual Evaluation about progress and Para Kore advisor provides on-going support

Our Purpose
Para Kore is a Māori zero waste organisation with a kaupapa based on whakapapa to Papatūānuku and expressed through an experienced and skilled team who are passionate about, and committed to, achieving a zero waste Aotearoa.
Para Kore is for Everyone
The rōpū we work with include but are not limited to: marae, whānau, hapū, iwi, kura, kōhanga reo, puna reo, kindergarten, community organisations, events, churches, tertiary institutions, companies, community gardens, and kaumatua rōpū.
