Poihakena Marae, Whaingaroa

"This is how we used to roll….
We'd toss everything into black rubbish bags, except food scraps
- we'd put those into pig buckets. Every month we'd have different
people in the kitchen. Some cooks would separate out the
recyclables, but more often everything went into the rubbish
bag.
Para Kore presented to our marae committee, we signed an
agreement and made Richmond our Para Kore representative. Together
we worked out a Para Kore Action Plan.
We've made it easy for everyone. We've put labeled bins under the
sinks for glass, plastic and cans. When they're full we empty them
into the outdoor wheelie bins.

Add style to your metal driveway by adding unwanted kaimoana shells.
As they crush into the gravel, check out the colour effect, it is stunning. Reduce waste and flash up the driveway.
